About Us – Hunny Bunnies

Hi, I’m Alison the creator and founder of Hunny Bunnies clothing! We are located in the heart of the West Country and I have been a seamstress by trade for many years now.

Sewing is a great passion of mine, I have made everything from wedding dresses to prom dresses, but my real joy comes from making children’s clothing. Items that can be enjoyed many times over, rather than just a dress worn for one day only!

I started making children’s clothes for my own kids, until they become “too cool” to wear something that Mum had made for them. I have to admit some of the clothes I have made are still alive, even though my children are now much too large to fit into them!

I do believe in making durable items that will last for as long as the fun does! I receive great pleasure in knowing that the clothes I make for your children will enjoyed by many princess and prince alike! Play is such an important part of a child’s life and playing dress-up can spark their imaginations, all the items here at Hunny Bunnies will last for many an adventure! There are also adorable snuggly dressing gowns and blankets for sleepy-time!

The items I make come from the heart, and I like to add personal touches where I can. I can embroider a name onto the fabric for you, but please be aware that any custom clothing I make will take more time to reach you, although it will be worth the wait!

We also sell dog coats, beds and blankets, after rescuing my own pooch Emmie, I know how much we also like to spoil our favourite four-legged friends. Emmie loves nothing more than curling up on her blanket after a run in the park, and the coat I made for her keeps her warm and dry and (mostly) mud-free!

There is also a collection of fabrics available for sale, for those of you with a creative touch yourself I have excellent quality lengths of fabric for your very own project. I use the best quality fabric that I can source as I believe the first step to making a great product is using the best materials.

I started Hunny Bunnies while making baby items for those close to me who needed them in my community and selling what I could at local fairs. Although 2020 was a bad year, it allowed me plenty of time to create, I might even have gone a little overboard in that regard!

People have always encouraged me to branch out from craft fairs and go online, which is a big step for me, I took the plunge and found a lovely lad called Chris to help me create my website. He has done a marvelous job, but the website was far from complete. He built me a beautiful website but now I had to fill it full of all the things I had made. This was the next step, and for myself I felt it might be a little tricky.

I find it hard to admit that I have many talents, but I will readily confess that photography is not one of them. So I was very pleased to bump into Claire one day. (Almost literally. It was very muddy and we had two very excited dogs running rings around us.) Not only did my Emmie gain a four-legged friend in her dog Rogue, but I found a photographer for my website, and someone willing to write about my products and tackle social media. Now we are cooking with gas!

I hope you love my products as much as I enjoyed making them! I hope they will give a unique spin to your child’s playtime, or give your dog a stylish coat for their walkies.
